The Heaven or Hell Tournament is a new take on the common tournament bracket seen in many federations’ opening moments. In Pro Wrestling NEO, this tournament will decide the general hierarchy of the company. However, the format of the tournament will do something rather strange to the common wrestling fan.
The common system will be turned on its head literally. Instead of advancing in the tournament, a winner is excused from the tournament. The loser of each match will advance in the tournament until the finals, which will determine the last man standing.
Winners of the first round will be inserted into the Pro Wrestling NEO Championship eliminators.
Winners of the second round will be inserted into the Pro Wrestling NEO Grand Prix Championship eliminators.
Winners of the third round will be inserted into the Pro Wrestling NEO Impulse Championship challenge.
Semi-finalists will have a special challenge for them.
The finalists are competing to save themselves from “Exile.” The Exile status means that the individual cannot compete for any championship in NEO until they win one of the major competitions later on. For a minimum of three months, the Exiled will be banned from competing for the coveted prizes and statuses in NEO.
The origin of the tournament’s design came from the mind of PW: NEO’s talent scout, Hayato Kageyama.
“I think the want for fame and fortune is an important one. Everyone wants to rule the world one day. However, I don’t wish to see just how much someone will push for a chance at the top. I rather see the desperation brought on from keeping away from the bottom. No one wants to be the loser. Imagine how hard someone will fight against being the biggest loser.” - HAYATO KAGEYAMA
More details on the rewards will come later.
"Hoping to bring efedding a few good steps forward."
NOTES: 1. Due to VICIOUS Montana receiving a knee injury, Nora Foley replaced him in the tournament. 2. Due to Skylynn Reed's insubordination actions, she was replaced by Marilyn Lee Cross. 3. Vanity Fulbright attacked Will Neilson before the match, leading to a controversial count-out loss.
