February 24th, 2019 - Sacramento, California - The Forest
As the camera fades in to show what is in the shot, a blazing campfire is in view and its searing brightness is enticing. Although the night is dark, the blazing light from the fire reveals several large logs scattered around it. In a circle formation, the logs look sturdy, however, their texture looks to be quite rough. The fire rages on as the sky gets darker and the nightlife comes out to play.
The zinc-silver orb in the sky known as the moon is as full as it can be, adding to the peaceful vibe in the air. As the camp stays unattended, a bird lands the log and makes a noise. Probably looking for food, the forests are a perfect place for insects and the nutrition that the bird needs to survive.
Suddenly, the cracking sound of branches on the floor being broken causes the bird to fly away into the night sky as a huge shadow begins to take its place in the shot. The footsteps closer and the silhouette gets bigger and bigger by the second. However, it is not a sasquatch out in the wilderness, it is actually Carson Campbell. The Mountain from The Outback is wearing camo boardshorts, a grey vest, and his usual beige hiking boots, he looks to be carrying a hefty amount of logs and broken tree branches above his shoulder. With an accomplished look on his face, he throws the wood to one side to sit on the log he is stood directly in front of, as he looks at the camera as if it were an old friend.
CARSON CAMPBELL: “It’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it?”
Smiling, Carson reaches down to the pile of wood to the side of him, as he proceeds to throw a couple of branches onto the fire to fuel it to continue. He rubs his hands together to get rid of the bark stuck to his palms.
CARSON CAMPBELL: “I mean sure, I’ve been having matches here and there, but I haven’t really been all there.”
Grabbing something to the right of the log he is sat on, it turns out to be a bottle of beer. He traps the cap of the bottle on the edge of the log and manages to open it. The froth erupts from the bottle as Carson contains it by taking a big swig. Enjoying the taste of the beverage, he continues.
CARSON CAMPBELL: “I came to NEO to prove that I wasn’t just like every other big guy that steps foot in the ring. I wanted to show that I could hang with my more athletic peers and that I could do much more than anyone my size has ever shown. However, I have not kept true to that.”
Carson sighs and looks a little unhappy with himself, but tries not to dwell too much on it but rather explain himself.
CARSON CAMPBELL: “Instead I’ve felt lost, I’ve felt like I am not doing nowhere near what I should be doing for the company and for myself. I got my start in JCP and instead of capitalizing on the momentum I garnered there, I trapped myself in a stagnant pool that I can’t seem to get out of.”
Carson takes another swig of beer from the bottle and thinks for a second. He knows he is destined for much more than what he has been able to do so far, he knows it’s his fault, and he knows he is going to do something about it.
CARSON CAMPBELL: “I know, I’ve not really been around as often as I’d like to be but I promise NEO has my full focus. For the rest of you on the roster be prepared, a Carson Campbell with a full focus and the right mindset is a scary thing for anybody opposite me inside the squared circle. I know I have the ability, the size, and the talent to be able to accomplish anything I can set my mind to, This is only the beginning. This is the rebirth of Carson Campbell.
The camera fades to black as Carson Campbell looks intent on making his way through the ranks of Pro Wrestling NEO.
