MEMBERS:Candy Mitsuyoshi and Kayo Tabuchi. TEAM NAME: Twilight Yokai / 黄昏の妖怪 [Tasogare no Yokai]. BILLED FROM: Kobe. COMBINED WEIGHT: 278lbs / 126kg. CROWD AFFILIATION: Face. PIC BASES: Io Shirai (Candy) and EYE from Mary's Blood (Kayo). DIVISION: Yūgen.
WRESTLING STYLE: Both being technicians, they prefer to keep things on the mat where they can chain moves together in combos. Their favoured tactic is to stay near their corner while controlling their opponent's positioning, close enough to tag even as they have holds applied, thus staying able to chain together combos of holds to wear the enemy down while staying relatively fresh themselves. When pushed onto the defensive they get more dynamic, drawing more on striking and flying, but still trying to control positioning and tempo. They really like having tagging while one of them has an opponent in a submission, so they can either chain into a new submission or have the fresh wrestler come in with some kind of streike or dive... then chain into a submission. TEAM PERSONALITY: With Candy's apathy, and Kayo's seriousness and unadventurousness, they're hardly the most extroverted team out there. They're not the sorts to get involved in wacky shenanigans or silly backstage skits, or for that matter, big confrontations (if they're ever needed for an "all the teams trade words in the ring" type of segment, they'll keep their piece quick and to the point). They will, on the other hand, stand up for what's right (mostly thanks to Kayo, admittedly) if injustice happens in front of them or if it's big enough to bring a bunch of faces out from the back. However, when Kayo's dealing with someone she truly hates, she'll try to keep Candy out of it for Candy's own sake. On the other hand, if Candy manages to make a serious enemy, Kayo will have her back. Kayo and Candy are friends and stablemates from Kansai Star Pro, and have both teamed and trained together enough to know each other pretty well in the ring. That's not the same thing as being a proper dedicated tag team though, so they've definitely still got some things to learn. Kayo's a bit nervous about that part. Candy kind of assumes they'll wing it. Part of Kayo's job in the team is to keep Candy motivated enough to compete properly (and not just quit after three shows), so she takes on a functional captain role, even though Candy is the superior wrestler. Kayo is the talker, provided it's in Japanese (or Korean, which she also speaks). She doesn't really speak English though. Candy's English is far from perfect, but it's enough that she'll do the talking in situations where speaking in English is necessary. Both halves of Twilight Yokai are members of Meiyo*stars, one of the two dominant stables in Kansai Star Pro [K*PRO]. The uniting philosophy of Meiyo*stars is that honour is the path to glory, in contrast to the other dominant stable, Gensai-gun NEO, which believes that victory is the path to glory. Candy has long been in the inner circle of Kazuko "Cannonball" Kayama - her trainer, the co-founder of K*PRO, the leader of Meiyo*stars, and her immediate boss as an employee of Kansai Star Joshi Dojo. Over the last few years Kayo has also increasingly found herself part of Kayama's circle - enough that when she volunteered to go with Candy to Arcadia to help keep the young prodigy motivated, Cannonball readily agreed. Althougth Arcadia only lasted a single show, Candy and Kayo have agreed to continue their association as a team in Yūgen. Kayo's quite open about the fact that she's partly doing it to increase her profile and build up the courage to compete internationally, but she's still serious about trying to help her friend Candy. Candy appreciates this, and is going to try her very hardest. However hard that may or may not prove to be.
PRIMARY FINISHER: "Sundown" - One member gets the opponent in a surfboard, as if to deliver a kerb stomp, with a foot between the opponent's shoulderblades to restrict their movement. The other member comes off the top rope in a slingshot or diving double foot kerb stomp. Can be done either way round. SECOND FINISHER: "Sunrise" - Shortarm clutch from Kayo into a rising kick under the chin, combined with a diving kick to the back of the head from Candy.
SIGNATURES 1. "Winged Kitsune Clutch" - Standing back-to-back over a downed opponent, Kayo applies a sharpshooter while Candy applies a camel clutch. Technically this is their preferred finisher, but obviously they normally only have a five count. In matches where they're able to keep the hold applied for longer, or if the opponent's taken enough damage by the point they lock it on, it can serve as a finisher. 2. Americana lock from Kayo transitioned into a figure four leglock from Candy, or vice versa. 3. Diving moonsault from Candy and Ghost Wedding [flipping diving senton bomb] from Kayo, either together or one after the other; can be done either to the same opponent or two different opponents. 4. Double spinning toehold. 5. While Candy has an opponent in a lotus lock, she tags to Kayo who comes in and grabs their legs to transition into a Boston crab or an inverted scorpion deathlock.
